Our Company
History
Our history in the investment industry dates back to 1937 when H. H. Butterfield established a firm in Jackson, MI. With much success, his son James C. Butterfield (Jim) joined him in business and later branched out on his own, creating “James C. Butterfield Investments, Inc.” Alex joined alongside his father and mentor in 1987 and continues the family tradition today. Our name and values have stayed steady in Jackson since the start.
Our company logo entails a Model A, in which we take pride in displaying. Jim Butterfield's interest in historical cars dated back to his High School days when he owned a Model A, as it reminded him of the guts of the country at that time. He enjoyed things that had attained maturity, which follows our philosophy of embracing a long-term perspective in investing.
